Policy
Refund Policy
1. Overview
FlyorBook facilitates bookings with various airlines. Refund eligibility depends on the fare type purchased and the specific airline's policies. This policy outlines general guidelines, our service fee structure, and special provisions for auto-book, express booking, and subscription refunds. We are committed to making the refund process as transparent and straightforward as possible.
2. 24-Hour Cancellation Window
24-Hour Cancellation Where Required by Law
Where U.S. Department of Transportation 24-hour cancellation rules apply to the airline ticket you purchased (typically tickets bought at least 7 days before departure), FlyOrBook will request cancellation and refund through the booking provider according to that airline’s and the payment rail’s rules. Eligibility is determined by the airline/provider record at the time of the request — not by a separate FlyOrBook override. Non-U.S. itineraries and some fare products may not qualify. Service fees are refunded only when the underlying ticket is fully refunded by the provider or when FlyOrBook caused a verified technical error.
3. Cancellation by Customer
Refundable Fares
Full refund to your original payment method, minus the FlyorBook service fee ($12–$38 depending on fare amount). Refunds are processed according to the timelines in Section 8 below.
Non-Refundable Fares
May be eligible for airline credit toward future travel. Airline change fees ($50–$200 depending on carrier and route) may apply. The FlyorBook service fee is non-refundable. Check the specific airline's policy for credit validity and restrictions.
Basic Economy Fares
Basic economy fares are generally not refundable or changeable outside the 24-hour window. Availability of airline credit varies by carrier. Contact the airline directly for basic economy exceptions.
4. Cancellation by Airline
If your flight is cancelled or significantly changed by the airline:
- You are entitled to a full refund, including the FlyorBook service fee
- Alternative rebooking on the next available flight at no extra cost
- EU261 compensation may apply for EU-departing flights (€250–€600 depending on flight distance)
- U.S. DOT rules: airlines must refund for significant delays (3+ hours domestic, 6+ hours international)
- FlyorBook will proactively notify you and assist with refund processing
5. Auto-Book (Target-Price Bid) Refunds
For bookings made automatically through the target-price bidding feature:
- Standard airline cancellation policies apply based on the fare type booked
- Where a legal 24-hour cancellation right applies, the clock starts when the auto-book creates the airline order, not when you set the bid
- You receive an email and in-app notification when auto-book triggers (push when enabled)
- You can cancel any active bid at any time before it triggers — no charge applies
- Auto-book is not a free “change your mind” product: refunds after trigger follow airline rules and payment-rail capabilities
6. Express Booking Refunds
Important: Express Bookings
- Express bookings for flights departing 15–60 minutes before departure are final and non-refundable
- Airline check-in and boarding passes are handled by the operating carrier
- If the airline cancels the flight, a full refund (including service fee) applies
- If you miss the flight after express booking, no refund is available
7. Subscription (Pro Plan) Refunds
For Pro subscription billing:
- 30-day money-back guarantee on your first subscription payment — no questions asked
- Cancel anytime; your Pro access continues until the end of your current billing period
- No partial refunds for unused portions of a billing period after the 30-day guarantee window
- Annual plans: prorated refund available within the first 30 days only
8. FlyorBook Service Fees
The FlyorBook service fee ($12–$38 per booking, based on fare amount) is non-refundable except in airline-initiated cancellations, duplicate bookings reported within 1 hour, or verified technical errors.
- Airline-initiated flight cancellations or significant schedule changes
- Duplicate bookings made in error (reported within 1 hour of the second booking)
- Technical errors on our platform (verified by our engineering team)
Subscription fees follow the subscription refund policy in Section 7 above. Booking commissions (2.5% Free / 1.5% Pro) are part of the ticket price and follow the same refund rules as the underlying fare.
9. Refund Processing Times
Processing times begin after the refund is approved. Your bank may take additional time to post the credit.
